How does hiring a campervan or motorhome with Camptoo work?
Find an amazing motorhome or caravan
Choose a caravan or motorhome from our wide range that suits your holiday needs to make it that extra special. You can apply filters such as pick-up location, product types and the number of berths.
The advertisements give you a good overview of the caravan or motorhome, with pictures, descriptions and features. If you see something interesting, you can save it as a favourite to easily find it again the next time you are on Camptoo.
Ask a question or request a non-binding reservation
There are two ways to contact the owner of a motorhome or caravan via Camptoo: you can start a conversation by clicking the "Send message" button in the ad or you can directly "Request a reservation". If you’re still looking around, it is best to use the "Send message" option. Our owners are happy to answer your questions.
Once you have decided which motorhome or caravan you want to use for your holidays, it is best to "Request a reservation". The owner can then accept or reject your reservation. Even after the owner accepted your reservation request, you can still request other vehicles or even cancel the reservation. The reservation is only complete and final once you have made a payment.
Complete your reservation
Once the owner has accepted your reservation request, you can complete your reservation request. Finalize the simple verification procedure by updating your profile and fill in all the necessary details. Next, confirm your reservation by proceeding to the checkout. Complete your reservation request by paying a first installment of 50% of the total booking via our secure checkout process. 8 weeks before pickup we will send you a reminder to pay the balance.
Camptoo will transfer the funds to the owner once you have picked up your motorhome or caravan. This will guarantee that the motorhome or caravan will be there for you.
Please note: as long as you have not completed the reservation request, fellow travellers are still able to book the same vehicle for the same period. By completing the reservation request you agree to the terms and conditions of the hire.
Authorize the security deposit
You have to authorize the security deposit of €500 per caravan or €1000 per motorhome at least one day before your departure. If nothing happens during the trip, the security deposit will be refunded once your trip is over. If you want to insure your security deposit you can find proper excess reduction insurance here.
It can occur that you need to cancel your booking. In that case the cancellation policy will apply. We advise to get a travel insurance that properly covers you in case you would need to cancel your trip.

Once I got the hang of everything this is easy to use, you just have to make sure you have your paperwork ready. It takes a little bit out of your day but in the end you're getting a van so they need to make sure they have everything to cover themselves and you.

Easy to find but paid the deposit and Nigel didn’t receive confirmation of that meaning that at midnight he contacted me saying I hadn’t paid the deposit which I had. Luckily we sorted it but Camptoos fault.
