Ernie's 2003 Mercedes Campervan served us well for the 10 day trip to the north of Perth. Our plan was to see many wildflowers and look for warmer weather. We ended up traveling more than 2000 km. The van was driving well and at 90 km/h we used about 11/l per 100 km, not bad for such a high vehicle. We got used to the lay-out inside. Several features we did not use, such as the side annex, the hot water system, the shower and the TV. We used the toilet often and managed to get the DVD player working after buying a new cable. The large bed was very comfortable. Charging points for iPad and phones we used every night. The fridge was brand new and very quiet.
For two single beds we found the layout too narrow. The supplied folding table was very handy, inside or outside. The internal height was too low for me at 1.90 m. The sliding door outer handle was hard to operate and it broke off on the last day.
Ernie and his wife were very easy going and there were no issues on handing the van back. Many thanks, we had a good time!
