Beithin is our 1975 Classic VW campervan. She is a rare automatic with an original Westfalia interior, one of only two like her in the country. To ensure reliability and safety she is serviced yearly and is well maintained having recently had a new engine and a reconditioned gear box fitted. Roadside Assistance is provided by the RAC.
We are located just outside the pretty Highland Town of Tain and are on the NC500 route, the ideal location to explore the Highlands.
Beithin has a pop-top roof arrangement which can sleep 2 children. Below there is a ¾ bed that will sleep 2 adults. The awning can provide additional accommodation with 2 single or a double air-mattress, these are provided. Pets can be negotiated.
Because she’s a vintage automatic, we do not recommend wild camping. As with all automatics, getting her towed out of soggy ground is more difficult and can lead to significant damage. Having said this, roadside parking is fine.
The Van comes completely kitted out with everything you’ll need. A list can be provided on request.
Beithin is from an early era of driving, it is not like driving a modern car with all its bells and whistles. She is quirky and fun but also slower and louder. Because of this, we provide a thorough familiarisation session before you set off to ensure you are comfortable and your holiday get off to the best possible start.
We can provide free off-road parking and can arrange pick up from either Inverness Airport or a local Railway station (£20 pick up fee)
